Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

  1. The Olympiad is open to students currently enrolled in classes 8, 9, and 11.
  2. Participants must provide accurate information during registration. Any discrepancies may result in disqualification.
  3. The wards of IMD employees are not eligible to participate in this Olympiad.

2. Registration

  1. Registration must be completed through the official platform before 10 December 2024 23:59 Hrs (IST).
  2. Each participant is allowed only one registration. Duplicate entries will result in disqualification.
  3. Parental or guardian and school consent is required as part of the registration process.

3. Examination Rules

  1. The Olympiad will be conducted online, and participants must ensure they have a reliable device and internet connection.
  2. The exam is designed to be attempted individually. Collaboration, external assistance, or the use of unauthorized aids (e.g., books, calculators) is strictly prohibited.
  3. The exam must be completed within the allotted time. Late submissions will not be considered.
  4. The medium of the Olympiad will be English only, and all study materials will be provided in English.
  5. The timings of the Olympiad will be shared through registered email-id / mobile no / website.
  6. Participants must ensure fair participation and refrain from any form of malpractice.
  7. Teachers, parents, or guardians should not assist students during the exam.
  8. Any participant found violating the rules will be disqualified immediately.

4. Technical Requirements

  1. Participants are responsible for ensuring their device (computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile) and internet connectivity are compatible with the online examination platform.
  2. The organizers are not liable for technical issues, including internet disconnection or device failure, during the examination.

5. Examination Format

  1. The Olympiad will consist of multiple-choice questions related to meteorology and associated sciences, as covered in the provided study materials.
  2. Participants must follow the instructions provided on the examination interface carefully.

6. Evaluation and Results

  1. The evaluation will be conducted by the organizers.
  2. The organizers' decision regarding results will be final and binding.
  3. Results will be announced on the official website or sent to the registered email address.

7. Awards and Certificates

  1. Top-performing students from each class will receive awards, prizes, and certificates, as announced on the official website.
  2. Participation certificates (in soft copy) will be provided to all students who complete the Olympiad.
  3. Three winners from each state for individual classes will be invited to New Delhi to participate in a one-day workshop on 14 January 2025 and the 150th Foundation Day celebration of IMD on 15 January 2025. These students will be accompanied by one teacher or guardian, with travel (shortest route in 3AC by train) and lodging expenses covered by the organizers.
  4. Top three state-level winners from each class will attend a contest to select national-level winners for that class on 14 January 2025 in New Delhi.

8. Privacy and Data Usage

  1. Personal information collected during registration will be used only for the purpose of the Olympiad and will not be shared with third parties.

9. Liability

  1. The organizers are not responsible for any loss, inconvenience, or issues arising from participation in the Olympiad.
  2. Participants accept full responsibility for ensuring they meet the requirements and follow the rules of the competition.

10. Changes and Amendments

  1. The organizers reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions or the examination process at any time.
  2. Any changes will be communicated to participants via email or on the official website.

11. Organizers' Rights

  1. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify or refuse participation to any participant if they deem the participation or association to be detrimental to the Olympiad or its partners.
  2. Registrations will be void if the information provided is illegible, incomplete, false, or erroneous.
  3. The organizers’ decision on the Olympiad will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

12. Governing Law

  1. The laws of the Indian Judiciary shall govern these terms and conditions.

By registering and participating in the National Meteorological Olympiad, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
