The Meteorological Centre, Patna, under the India Meteorological Department (IMD), organized a one- day Stakeholders Workshop on Severe Weather and Meteorological Services in Bihar to commemorate IMD’s 150th anniversary. The workshop took place on Wednesday, 18th December 2024, at the Marhaba Hall, Hotel Patliputra Continental, Anisabad, Patna. The event aimed to bring together stakeholders to understand their requirements in terms of timing and accuracy, gather feedback from user agencies, and translate scientific advancements into impactful services for societal benefit. Discussions centered on improving forecasting capabilities, enhancing the role of meteorological services in disaster management, and addressing the challenges posed by severe weather events and climate change in Bihar.
