Mohapatra, Director General, India Meteorological Department (IMD) and 3rd Vice President of WMO held a meeting with Mr. Ryoichi Nomura, Permanent Representative of Japan and Director-General, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) in JMA HQ, Tokyo on 10th February 2026 to further strengthen cooperation and collaboration between the IMD and JMA. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has won the Award of Excellence at the Digital Transformation Summit 2026. This prestigious honor recognizes IMD’s ‘Multi-Hazard Early Warning Decision Support System’ for its innovation and excellence in public service delivery.”

Dr. M. Mohapatra, Director General, IMD welcomed Hon’ble MoS (I/C), MoES, Dr Jitendra Singh and r. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, MoES on the grand occasion of IMD’s 151st Foundation Day.

The Hon’ble MoS (I/C), MoES, Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the commemorative plaque on 15th January 2026.
