To commemorate the celebration of India Meteorological Department (IMD) 150 years of services to the nation, the Meteorological Centre Shillong organized a one-day Stakeholder Workshop on “Weather and Climate Service” for Meghalaya on 15th November 2024 at Conference Hall, Shillong Club Ltd (Residential). The Chief Guest of the Workshop was Matsiewdor War Nongbri, IAS, Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Meghalaya in presence of Dr. M. Mohapatra, Director General of Meteorology, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, Shri K.N. Mohan, Head, Regional Meteorlogical Centre Guwahati, Dr. A.C. Lyngdoh, Head, Central Seismological Observatory and Shri Thangjalal Lhouvum, Head Meteorological Centre Shillong. The workshop was attended by various stakeholders from Centra and State Government along with various agencies, Institutes, AF Met. Shillong and Dorbr Shnong of Mawsynram Dorbar. The inaugural session was followed by a Technical Session; presentation from IMD scientist with a question and answer session. This was followed by presentation and feedback from stakeholders and discussion with stakeholders moderated by Dr. M. Mohapatra, DG IMD. The workshop conlusded with a vote of thanks from Head, MC Shillong and concluding remarks from DG, IMD Shillong.
