A stakeholder workshop was conducted by MC Raipur on 29Aug2024, with Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh gracing the inaugural session. Two technical sessions with 8 speakers and with participation of around 200 invitees, guests and stake holders took place. The major stake holders included: Dept. of Agriculture Water Resource Department Centre Water Commission State Disaster Management Authority Dept. of Health Indian Air Force BSF Print and Electronic Media All the speakers and stakeholders highlighted the meteorological services being offered by MC Raipur in the state of Chhattisgarh and data and information shared by MC Raipur is being used in their respective departments. Few suggestions by stakeholders mentioned below were put forth which were addressed immediately. S.No Suggestion Action Taken 1. Consolidated single weather highlighting bulletin the immediate weather to state authorities 2. Request for passing of weather warnings of Chhattisgarh to NDRF Odisha. Modified daily weather bulletin in April 2024 according to state requirement with key points highlighted. Daily this is being shared with all state authorities. Mentioned the same to stake holders and demonstrated each section in bulletin. NDRF Odisha was added in mailing list of our forecast and warnings and also officer from NDRF Odisha Mahanadi basin was added in Chhattisgarh weather warnings groups in whatsapp. 3. Request for weekly weather watch meetings to be in physical mode. MC Raipur conducts Weekly weather watch meeting with all major stake holders online every Thursday during South West Monsoon period, briefing the significant weather and warnings for next one week. Also it collects inputs from stake holders which is used in Impact Based Forecast. Physical meeting could not be considered lacking enough manpower and infrastructure.
